Disease Development and Discovery of Anatomically Resistant Features towards Bacterial Leaf Streak in Rice

چکیده

Bacterial leaf streak (BLS) caused by bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) is one of the most prominent rice diseases. BLS causes a significant reduction in paddy yields. However, there are limited studies and lack information regarding mechanisms cells affected on tissues severed from this disease. Therefore, study, sensitive variety IR24 was inoculated against BLS, pathogen colonised mesophyll some bundle sheath cells. The infection spreads rapidly towards base apex leaf, but rather slowly to left right sides veins. Another experiment performed unravel anatomical characteristics varieties (TN1, IR24, IR5) resistant (IR26, Dular, IR36) BLS. Susceptible have less thick midrib lamina, high number at primary vascular tissue (midrib), layer sclerenchyma secondary vein, more than two metaxylems vein. Resistant varieties, other hand, consist relatively thickened fewer layers This study contributes new knowledge identifying level fields, helps breeders producing paddies

Correction: Code-Assisted Discovery of TAL Effector Targets in Bacterial Leaf Streak of Rice Reveals Contrast with Bacterial Blight and a Novel Susceptibility Gene

There are data and labeling errors in Figure 3. In the original Figure 3, the gel image for Os07g06970 is incorrect. It is a duplicate of the image for Os01g40290. The new Figure 3 contains the correct image. Also, the original Figure 3 was generated using Locus IDs from Release 5.0 of the Rice Genome Annotation Project. Relative to Release 7.0, used for all other reporting in the article, one ...

Code-Assisted Discovery of TAL Effector Targets in Bacterial Leaf Streak of Rice Reveals Contrast with Bacterial Blight and a Novel Susceptibility Gene

Bacterial leaf streak of rice, caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) is an increasingly important yield constraint in this staple crop. A mesophyll colonizer, Xoc differs from X. oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), which invades xylem to cause bacterial blight of rice. Both produce multiple distinct TAL effectors, type III-delivered proteins that transactivate effector-specific host genes. A TA...

New multilocus variable-number tandem-repeat analysis tool for surveillance and local epidemiology of bacterial leaf blight and bacterial leaf streak of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae.

Multilocus variable-number tandem-repeat analysis (MLVA) is efficient for routine typing and for investigating the genetic structures of natural microbial populations. Two distinct pathovars of Xanthomonas oryzae can cause significant crop losses in tropical and temperate rice-growing countries. Bacterial leaf streak is caused by X. oryzae pv. oryzicola, and bacterial leaf blight is caused by X...

A maize resistance gene functions against bacterial streak disease in rice.

Although cereal crops all belong to the grass family (Poacea), most of their diseases are specific to a particular species. Thus, a given cereal species is typically resistant to diseases of other grasses, and this nonhost resistance is generally stable. To determine the feasibility of transferring nonhost resistance genes (R genes) between distantly related grasses to control specific diseases...
